Confirm the correct port and ship
South Florida has two major cruise ports: PortMiami and Port Everglades. A reservation request should include the cruise line, ship name, sailing date and expected terminal when available. Do not rely on the port name alone.
For same-day connections, provide the arriving flight number and scheduled arrival time. The gap between landing and embarkation needs to account for deplaning, baggage claim, ground transportation and port processing—not only drive time.
Decide whether the hotel is a separate leg
If you arrive the day before sailing, plan the airport-to-hotel and hotel-to-port trips as separate reservations. Share both legs together so passenger and luggage needs remain consistent.
Travelers arriving at FLL can also request a private transfer to PortMiami. Because this route crosses county lines, allow additional planning time and disclose the cruise check-in requirement.
Plan the return before sailing
Disembarkation timing can vary. A good return plan explains how to communicate after clearing the terminal and where the pickup will occur. If a flight follows the cruise, share the airport and departure time when booking.
